So What Else Bag Donation Derby

Saddle up for a fun, fast-paced race that’s all about teamwork, community, and giving back! The So What Else Bag Donation Derby is a one-of-a-kind, Kentucky Derby–inspired event happening during Metro MoveFest 2025 — and it’s got everything from derby hats to taped-up hooves!

 Teams of two — one “Horse” and one “Jockey” — compete in a themed relay race to fill So What Else donation bags with dried goods.

🎩 Jockeys wear jockey hats, open and hold the bags.

🐴 Horses wear horse hats and have their hands taped like hooves (yep — no fingers allowed!)

🏁 Teams race in loops around a “track” of four tables loaded with dried goods.

As they circle, horses must use their taped hooves to stuff items into bags held open by their jockeys.

The first team to successfully fill five So What Else donation bags wins the race — but everyone wins when we support families in need.

And yes… the race begins with the official Kentucky Derby Bugle Call!

 All filled bags will be collected by So What Else, a nonprofit that provides essential supplies to local families and youth. Your fun = someone else’s support.
